If you're looking for a new outboard, we can help you find the right Yamaha for your boat. Visit us at Largs Yacht Haven or Troon Yacht Haven and we'll talk it through with you, from the boat you have to the way you actually use it.

Anyone who goes afloat on the Clyde knows how quickly a day can shift. Plans change. The weather changes. The tide changes. You set off for a couple of hours and decide to stay out, or the breeze fills in sooner than forecast and you turn for home early. Through all of that, it helps when your engine just gets on with it.

That's the point of a dependable outboard. Yamaha outboards are built to deliver steady performance on the water, and for most owners that matters more than anything on a specification sheet. It means an early-morning fishing trip where the engine starts and runs without fuss, or a full day out where you aren't listening for odd noises on the way back.

Choosing the right one takes a little thought. Matching power to the boat is the obvious starting point, as an engine that's too small will struggle when the boat is loaded with people, fuel and kit, while one that's too large adds weight and cost you may not need. Shaft length has to suit the transom, and how you plan to use the boat makes a difference too. A tender running out to a mooring has very different needs from a small fishing boat heading a few miles offshore.

It's also worth thinking about weight if the engine will be lifted on and off, how fuel is carried, and the servicing the engine will need over the years. These are the sort of practical details we're happy to go through with you, and it's usually easier in person, with the boat's details to hand.

We've been selling and looking after boats on the Clyde since 1965, and we've been members of British Marine for more than forty years. As the Jeanneau dealer for Scotland and a yacht brokerage, we spend our days around owners and their boats, so we know what local conditions ask of an engine. We also work very closely with our sister company YACHTS.CO, a family-run yacht brokerage and co Jeanneau and Delphia dealer.

If you're thinking about a new outboard, or you aren't sure whether your current engine still suits your boat, come and see us at Largs or Troon and we'll help you find the right Yamaha.
