The Sun Odyssey 440 was the first Jeanneau with the walk-around deck. The side decks slope gently down to the cockpit, so you can walk from the helm to the bow without climbing over anything. That makes handling lines, mooring up and moving about at sea simpler and safer, and it's especially welcome when there are only two of you aboard.
Philippe Briand drew the hull with a chine and a powerful, hard-bilged shape, which keeps her stiff and lively under sail, particularly in a moderate breeze. Twin wheels and twin rudders keep her responsive and easy to steer, and the sail plan is set up to be managed from the cockpit.
The cockpit is big and sociable, with a table that seats the whole crew and a drop-down transom that opens onto the water. Below, Piaton Bonet's interior is bright and modern, with up to four cabins, two heads and close to 2m of headroom. She was named European Yacht of the Year in 2018.
