The Sun Odyssey 385 is a 38-foot cruiser designed to make sailing simpler and safer, whatever your level of experience. You can set her up to suit the way you cruise, with three ballast options including a retractable keel, three rigging choices, four interior layouts and a choice of wood finishes.
She's dependable and sensibly thought out, and the aim throughout is to let you spend your time sailing with the people you care about rather than wrestling with the boat.
The deck works well under way and at anchor. Side decks are wide enough to walk all the way round, there are no backstays in the way, and the areas for handling lines are kept clearly apart from the places to sit and relax, so moving about is easy and safe. The cockpit seats have high backs that support you when she's heeled and make for a comfortable spot at anchor. Getting below takes just three steps.
In the saloon and at the chart table, rounded seats face each other, which makes it easy to talk. Storage and lighting are practical. The guest cabins get natural light and a view out to sea, and the owner's cabin has a large rectangular berth with plenty of stowage.
