Jeanneau's new Cap Camarat 6.0 CC is about to make its public debut, and we're pleased to share a first look ahead of the Cannes Yachting Festival, which runs from 9 to 14 September. It's a 6-metre centre console built for straightforward days on the water, and it's one we think will suit a lot of owners here in Scotland.
The idea behind it is simple. It's easy to run, easy to trail and comes with a 115 hp engine as standard. That combination matters more than any single headline figure. A boat of this size can live on a trailer at home, be towed to a slipway when the weather looks right, and be launched and away without a long list of jobs. Running costs stay sensible, and there's less to worry about over the winter.
A centre console layout puts the helm in the middle of the boat, so you can walk right round it. That's handy when you're picking up a mooring, coming alongside or simply moving about with family and friends aboard. It also keeps everyone close together, which is part of the appeal on a coastal day out, whether that means exploring a stretch of shoreline, stopping for lunch at anchor or just enjoying some sunshine.
Cannes is one of the big early-autumn shows, and it's where builders tend to unveil their newest boats. For anyone visiting, it's a good chance to step aboard, look at the finish and the storage, sit at the helm and get a feel for the space before reading too much into brochures. If you can't make it, we'll be happy to talk you through what's been shown and what's coming.
We already have one listed for sale with us: a 2027 Cap Camarat 6.0 CC, 22ft, with one cabin and a Yamaha 150hp engine, lying at Jeanneau and asking £71,900. That's a step up from the standard 115 hp, and it's worth thinking about how you'll use the boat when choosing power. More horsepower gives extra punch with a full load aboard or in a short chop, while the standard engine keeps things simpler and lighter for towing.
When buying a trailerable boat like this, it pays to think beyond the boat itself. Check what your car can tow, where you'll launch and keep her, and what kit you'll want for the waters you plan to use. Those are conversations we have every week, and they make a real difference to how much you'll enjoy owning her.
Euroyachts has been selling and looking after boats on the Clyde since 1965, from Largs Yacht Haven and Troon Yacht Haven, and as the Jeanneau dealer for Scotland we work closely with our sister company YACHTS.CO. If the Cap Camarat 6.0 CC has caught your eye, get in touch with the team or have a look at the boat's page for more details.
