Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 509

A Philippe Briand design Jeanneau no longer builds, the Sun Odyssey 509 is a 15.38 m cruiser with 3 to 5 cabins for crews who want room and a rig they can tailor.
With a beam of 4.69 m and a choice of 3, 4 or 5 cabins, the Sun Odyssey 509 has plenty of space for a family or a regular crew. Jeanneau has stopped building her, so any you'll find now will be on the used market.
Philippe Briand drew her with seaworthiness and comfort in mind, and her lines were meant not to date. Overall she measures 15.38 m, with 14.98 m of that in the hull, and she draws 2.28 m.
The sail plan is a high-aspect ratio one, and it accepts a wide range of sails. That means you can set the rig up to suit how you actually sail, rather than living with one compromise.
For longer passages she carries 618 l of fresh water and 240 l of fuel.
