Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 44i

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 44i, photo 1 of 1

A former Jeanneau cruiser from Philippe Briand and the yard's design team, built strong for passagemaking and arranged for either private owners or charter.

Jeanneau no longer builds the Sun Odyssey 44i, so any you'll find now will be pre-owned. She was meant for open-water sailing, a solid seagoing boat that copes with different kinds of sailing and different conditions through the year.

Philippe Briand drew her together with Jeanneau's in-house designers, and the aim was a hull with real structural strength that still sails well. She's 13.75 m overall, with 13.41 m on the hull itself.

Tankage suits longer trips. There's 615 l of fresh water and 240 l of fuel, which means fewer stops to top up when you're covering distance.

Below, the interior is roomy and modular, and the boat was offered in versions set up for private owners or for charter. It's worth looking at how a particular boat has been arranged before deciding. Up top, the cockpit and helm were planned with comfort in mind, as were each of the cabins.
