With 550 l of fresh water and 200 l of fuel, the Sun Odyssey 43 DS carries enough to stay away from the pontoon for a good few days. She's 13.21 m overall, 12.84 m on the hull, draws 1.6 m and is rated for a maximum of 6 people.
She came about because the Sun Odyssey 40DS had done so well. Its deck saloon layout, a new idea for Jeanneau at the time, proved popular enough that the yard added a bigger boat to the line, and Daniel Andrieu drew her as he had the 40DS. She was launched at the Paris Boat Show.
Jeanneau has since stopped building her, so any 43 DS you look at now will be a pre-owned boat.
