Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 29.2

A previous-model Jeanneau family cruiser of 8.8 m, offered with keel or lifting keel and twin rudders, for small crews wanting an easy, secure boat.
With a draught of 0.75 m and room for up to 6 people, the Sun Odyssey 29.2 is a compact family cruiser that Jeanneau no longer builds. If you're looking at one on the used market, it helps to know what she was designed to do well.
Her hull was drawn by Jacques Fauroux, and it's a powerful shape for a boat of 8.8 m overall and 8.5 m on the hull. Jeanneau built her in two forms, one with a conventional keel and one with a lifting keel and twin rudders, so check which version you're viewing.
She's straightforward to sail. Tiller steering was standard, with a wheel available as an option, and the cockpit is deep enough to feel protected and big enough for the family to sit comfortably while under way.
The interior was planned around space and light, so she's pleasant to live aboard on a mooring as well as on passage. Tanks hold 100 l of fresh water and 45 l of fuel.
