Jeanneau Sun Fast 26

A small Jeanneau sportboat from Philippe Briand, no longer built, suited to sailors who want a stable 7.63 m boat that goes fast and is fun to sail.
The Sun Fast 26 is no longer in production, but she was drawn by Jeanneau and Philippe Briand with one idea in mind: fast is fun. From the start she carried the go-fast kit of her day, with a large-roach mainsail, a bowsprit, an asymmetrical spinnaker and a bulb keel. That combination is what let boats of her generation sail beyond the usual hull-speed limits.
On paper she has a 6,77m / 22' 4' waterline, 1,50m / 4'10' of draught and 35m2 / 377 ft2 of sail. The bowsprit lets the asymmetric fly free and easy, well out in front of the boat.
Much of her stability comes from a deck beam of 2,97m / 9' 6', which means the crew's weight on the rail does a lot of work. Ballast of 780 kg/1650 lb adds to that. Twin rudders help you keep control of a quick hull when she's heeled, with less drag than a single blade.
The designers clearly cared about the details on deck. You'll find multiple purchase systems and ball-bearing blocks throughout.
She's 7.63 m overall with a 7.49 m hull and is rated for up to 5 people. Below there are 2 cabins, and she carries 100 l of fresh water and 25 l of fuel.
